Reservations are taken from May to October and can be made
up to five months in advance of the starting date of your
trip.

What happens if I arrive after hours
during the off-season?
It is possible to register for campground and interior
camping
using the self-service registration forms available in the small kiosk directly outside the George Lake office.
How many people can camp on one site?
George Lake campground sites are limited to 6 people per site. For
canoe-in sites the maximum is 9, and for interior hike-in
sites a maximum of 6 is permitted.
Where
can I camp?
There is one car camping area at George
Lake. The campground has a comfort station,
beaches, and access to short hiking trails. Interior canoe
trippers have a choice of over 40 interconnected lakes to
choose from. Backpackers have a choice of 45 hike-in sites
along the 78 km Silhouette
trail.

is the best time for fall foliage viewing?
The first yellow, orange and red
leaves start to appear by mid-September. Peak colours usually
coincide with Canadian Thanksgiving (second weekend in
October)

Municipality Of Killarney, located 12
kilometers west of the George Lake
Access Point, has a general store, gas, restaurants, and numerous
accommodation options.

there access to Georgian Bay
from Killarney
Park?
Yes.Georgian
Bay
can be accessed via the Chikanishing Access Road, located 2
km’s west of the George Lake
campground. There is a boat launch and large parking area that
provides visitors with the ability to travel down
Chikanishing Creek to Georgian Bay.
